Discovery Phase
To study how people sat on their chairs, I walked around from classrooms to the wood shop and also computer labs. From these different locations, I've noticed how people who were deeply concentrated sat at the front of their seat and not used their backrest. This meant that I could reduce the amount of surface for sitting and eliminate the backrest.
Sketch Model and Testing
Using the ergo box, I tested where to position the seat and the lumbar support and how wide it it should be apart.
My instructor liked the idea of having less footprint and also how I dared to use as less dowels as I could. He thought it would be a good idea to keep the dowels as a seat and also lumbar support.
